PROJECT OEM+; Ultra brake kit upgrade

What is the point of going fast if you cannot stop?  The ability to upgrade the brakes on our VAG cars has been limited to rotors and pads that cost a few hundred dollars and the Big Brake Kits that cost a few thousand dollars. The ability to upgrade the stock system with a performance caliper and rotors eluded us, but not anymore. I've partnered up with a performance specialist by the name Prodigywerks. They make some serious BIG BRAKE KITS and a performance upgrade for the stock setup. That's right a 4 pot caliper meant to work with the existing OEM rotors with stainless steel lines.  I could not pass this opportunity up. I'll be doing an in depth review with weight+ dimensions & video clips. This will all be showcased on my new platform which is currently under construction. With so many cool colors to choose from I've decided to go with the Matt black and red writing to mirror the interior of the car.  I'll be dropping a promo code for your chance at getting

PROJECT OEM+; New Summer Rims and Tires

ONLY 17lbs at 17X9   (Click for video) Upcoming in depth review of the new Summer Rims and Tires will involve weight, video and specs. This will be debuting on the brand new platform that's currently under construction. Today I purchased the Advanti Racing Storm S1 rims for my OEM+ project. The rims are extremely lightweight for being a 17 X 9 ET35 wheel. They're a classic 10 spoke racing design in a hyper silver finish with real racing pedigree. Advanti Racing was a partner of the Mercedes Benz racing team as well as the Redbull owned Scuderia Toro Rosso now named Scuderia Alpha Tauri. Advanti Racing wheels are flow formed much like their cousin wheel companies Enkei, OZ, Konig (all owned by YHI). The wheels will be paired with a great all around ultra high performance summer tire in the NITTO 555  sized 255/45/17. The OEM specs for the Sline Audi TT Quattro was a set of 19 X 9 ET52 silver trip 5 spoke rims which weighed in 35-40lbs per rim.  The tires that came with the car

Racingline Oil catch can dump (1 winter month)

I went from dumping the contents of my CTS TURBO oil catch can biweekly to dumping the contents of the Racingline oilc catch can monthly.    Since it's winter in Canada the temperature has gone from +5 to -15 degrees in the same day. Because of the constant temperature changes its safe to say that not everything in the catch can is oil blowby. Because of this exact reason I needed a can that would have a larger containment capacity. The Racingline unit has all that and a high flow baffle system that still works even when 3/4 full. As you can see the car hasn't been upgraded since I've last blogged, but the OEM upgrades are very rewarding. An OEM+ brake upgrade is in the works and a new rim and tire setup too.  Stay tuned.

The tactile sensuality of rich leather. Tom Ford

I purchased the large 3.4oz (100ml) bottle before Christmas 2019 and I still have not finished it. I often only spray my neck & wrist & the fragrance lasts all day.  A longer lasting fragrance with less spray means a nice surprise return on my investment. I have received compliments from both men & women, straight and gay, it is a very inclusive fragrance that is not off putting like other high-end scents.  I have tried other "name" brands & non have come close to receiving as many compliments as Tom Ford Ombre Leather. I am looking forward to trying out the other fragrances from Tom Ford's fragrance house. Fragrance Family:  Warm & Spicy Scent Type:  Woody Spices Key Notes:  Black Leather, Cardamom, Patchouli Fragrance Description:  The tactile sensuality of rich black leather, textured with addictive patchouli and vetiver envelops like a second skin. The perfume’s floral tones of jasmine sambac conjure wild desert beauty, while layers of amber

Oil catch can system UPGRADE.

Bigger catch can means less frequent drainage, race inspired baffled system with built in surge tank allows for spirited driving without filling up the can too quickly. Is the CTS catch can worthwhile?  Absolutely, for normal daily driving, and relatively stock to stage 1 cars I can honestly recommend it.  In my case, I am constantly working on improving my Audi TT Quattro in order to surpass tuned TTS power, therefore I post pictures and videos of my upgrades as they occur. After the rebuild came the OEM+ tune up.

Months of pampering had finally come to its climax, the break in period had been reached and the TT was finally ready for its tune up. However, this was not going to be your usual filter and plugs ordeal, not in the slightest.  I had spent weeks if not months researching the vulnerable weak points of the EA888.2 engine & had made it my mission to ensure they were rectified.  The first being the always at fault positive crankcase ventilation “PCV” plate that was integrated into the aluminum valve cover. This automotive emissions system is meant to direct the gases that enter the crankcase into the intake stream to be reburned in the combustion chamber.  However, it fails often and without warning allowing oil to make its way into the intake tract causing carbon to build up on the intake valves.   This issue was rectified by installing a CTS Turbo CNC aluminum PCV replacement plate with an oil condenser and catch can. The oil vapor would travel from the CNC p

Auto maintenance; An investment in peace of mind. Oil Catch Can on a high performance Audi.

The proof that an oil catch can system is necessary on direct injection engines can be found in the following pictures. Once the boost is raised the more apparent that need becomes. If you own a high performance Audi don't wait for it to be too late. The prevention of sludge build up is as important as running premium gas.  Pictured below is a stage 1 tuned, Audi TT Quattro EA888.2 engine fitted with a CTS turbo oil catch can system.  Item is currently for sale.
