DIY Oil Change — 2013 Audi TT Quattro (2.0 TFSI EA888.2)

Oil drain plug: 30 Nm (22 lb-ft)
Oil filter housing cap: 25 Nm (18 lb-ft)
Undertray bolts (if removed): 8–10 Nm
Step 1 — Warm Up the Engine
Let the engine idle for 3–5 minutes.
Warm oil drains faster and carries more contaminants out of the EA888 crankcase.
Step 2 — Lift the Vehicle & Access Undertray
Safely lift the car and secure it on jack stands
Remove the undertray (if equipped)
Locate:
Oil drain plug (sump)
Oil filter housing (top-mounted engine bay)
Step 3 — Drain Engine Oil
Place drain pan under sump
Remove 19mm drain bolt carefully
Allow oil to fully drain (10–15 minutes)
Replace crush washer before reinstalling
Torque drain plug to: 30 Nm (22 lb-ft)
Step 4 — Replace Oil Filter
Locate oil filter housing on top of engine
Use 32mm socket to remove cap
Replace:
Filter cartridge
O-rings (lightly oil before installation)
Reinstall cap
Torque filter housing cap to: 25 Nm (18 lb-ft)
Step 5 — Reinstall Drain Plug & Undertray
Install new crush washer
Reinstall drain plug and torque properly
Refit undertray securely
Undertray bolts: 8–10 Nm (do not overtighten)
Step 6 — Refill Engine Oil
Remove oil fill cap
Add ~4.2–4.4L initially
Start engine for 30–60 seconds
Shut off and wait 5 minutes
Top up to correct level (final ~4.6–4.7L)
Step 7 — Check Level & Final Run
Check oil level via MMI or dipstick (if equipped)
Run engine briefly and recheck level
Adjust if necessary
Step 8 — Final Inspection
Check for leaks at:
Drain plug
Oil filter housing
Wipe any spilled oil
Confirm final level after short drive
