DIY Oil Change — 2014 Mercedes-Benz GLK350 4MATIC (X204)
Performing your own oil change on the GLK350 is one of the most important and cost-effective maintenance tasks you can do. The 3.5L M276 V6 is robust, but it is sensitive to oil quality and service intervals.

Step 1 — Warm the Engine

Allow oil to drain fully (10–15 minutes)
Replace crush washer before reinstalling
Torque drain plug to: 30 Nm
Step 4 — Replace Oil Filter

Remove 27mm cap
Replace:
Filter cartridge
O-rings (lightly oil new seals)
Reinstall cap
Torque filter housing cap to: 25 Nm
Step 5 — Reinstall Drain Plug & Undertray
Reinstall drain plug with new washer
Refit undertray securely
Undertray bolts: 8–10 Nm (snug only)
Step 6 — Refill Engine Oil
Add ~6.0L initially
Start engine for 30–60 seconds
Shut off and wait 5 minutes
Top up to correct level (approx. 6.5–7.0L total)
Step 7 — Final Check
Check for leaks at:
Drain plug
Filter housing
Verify oil level via electronic dipstick
Reset service reminder in cluster

Normal driving: 10,000–12,000 km (Mercedes interval)
Recommended enthusiast interval: 6,000–8,000 km
