After the rebuild came the OEM+ tune up.

Months of pampering had finally come to its climax, the break in period had been reached and the TT was finally ready for its tune up. However, this was not going to be your usual filter and plugs ordeal, not in the slightest.  I had spent weeks if not months researching the vulnerable weak points of the EA888.2 engine & had made it my mission to ensure they were rectified.  The first being the always at fault positive crankcase ventilation “PCV” plate that was integrated into the aluminum valve cover. This automotive emissions system is meant to direct the gases that enter the crankcase into the intake stream to be reburned in the combustion chamber.  However, it fails often and without warning allowing oil to make its way into the intake tract causing carbon to build up on the intake valves.   This issue was rectified by installing a CTS Turbo CNC aluminum PCV replacement plate with an oil condenser and catch can. Oil catch can system UPGRADE.

Bigger catch can means less frequent drainage, race inspired baffled system with built in surge tank allows for spirited driving without filling up the can too quickly. Is the CTS catch can worthwhile?  Absolutely, for normal daily driving, and relatively stock to stage 1 cars I can honestly recommend it.  In my case, I am constantly working on improving my Audi TT Quattro in order to surpass tuned TTS power, therefore I post pictures and videos of my upgrades as they occur. OEM + brake kit upgrade.

Is it necessary to upgrade your brakes?  I think it's a must & should really be the first thing to do when upgrading the power level of a vehicle. How do brakes work 101? Hydraulic Action Your brake pedal is connected mechanically, usually via a metal rod, to a device called the master cylinder. The master cylinder is a sealed chamber full of brake fluid, which is a form of hydraulic oil. Brake lines connect the master cylinder to your vehicle’s brake calipers. These brake lines are passageways through which the brake fluid flows. When you press the brake pedal, the metal rod attached to it acts on a piston inside of the master cylinder. This piston compresses the brake fluid inside of the master cylinder, which builds up pressure within the brake system. That pressure is transmitted through the brake lines and provides the force needed to work the vehicle’s brakes. More pedal force means more pressure, which means more stopping power.
